Venerdì 5 agosto 2016 – Domenica 21 agosto 2016 sono queste le date di inizio e della fine delle prossime Olimpiadi che si terranno a Rio de Janeiro in Brasile, la stessa città che nel 2014 ospitò la Coppa del Mondo FIFA vedendo la Germania vincitrice, questa sarà la XXXI edizione dei Giochi Olimpici ed è la prima volta che una città sudamericana ospita questo evento estivo.
In un Mondo in preda al panico per gli attentati terroristici che stanno avvenendo nell'ultimo periodo, la paura che sta attanagliando le menti di tutta l'umanità aumenta soprattutto nelle occasioni dove sono presenti moltissime persone come alle Olimpiadi o occasioni simili, ma Katy Perry spera in un Mondo unito e per questo motivo canta “Rise” il suo primo singolo estratto dal suo nuovo progetto discografico. La popstar tramite un videomessaggio ha spiegato i motivi per cui ha creato questo brano con la speranza di prendere esempio dagli atleti che pur sfidandosi continuano a risolvere e superare tutto, anche questa volta di positività, proprio come è nel suo stile.
Il video verrà trasmesso in rotazione dall'emittente statunitense NBC durante la durata dei giochi e si può vedere nei primi il panorama che contraddistingue la città di Rio con il Christo e subito dopo dei vari frammenti di video girati durante gli ultimi giochi Olimpici tenuti a Londra nel 2012. In generale il brano risulta molto orecchiabile e anche solo pochi secondi fanno capire lo stile e la bravura di Kety Perry. Non resta solo che attendere l'inizio dei giochi Olimpici essendo sicuri che Rise potrà divenire uno dei potenziali tormentoni estivi.
